I needed a plus size formal dress, and this was the only store near Dallas that advertised plus sizes, so I decided to go there. We went one day, a couple hours before they closed and had a decent experience. My sister ended up buying a dress there. I went back the very next day because the day before I didn't have enough time to try on a lot of the dresses that I wanted to try on. When you wear a plus size, you HAVE to make sure that the dress is going to fit good before you spend the money on it. Well, I made the mistake of taking too many dresses in the dressing room with me. I took 6 in and they only allow 3. Also, they only allow you to try on 9 dresses in one day, now how ridiculous is that?!? When they carry hundreds of dresses in the store, do they seriously expect us to only try on NINE and find the perfect one? I'm sorry, but if I'm going to spend $100 or more on a dress, I'm going to make sure that I absolutely love my dress! So my niece was in the dressing room helping me zip up dresses and next thing you know an Asian lady was banging on our dressing room door asking how many dresses I had in there. She wasn't asking politely, she was almost yelling. She also yelled "Are you the one that has been trying all these dresses on?!" -- very rudely. I couldn't believe she was treating us that way and we were still INSIDE the dressing room! And not to mention, there were other customers in the store. When we finally came out, she came over to me with the ugliest look on her face. She kept talking to me in a very loud, rude voice (and with an Asian accent), saying things like "only one person is allowed in dressing room!", "you only try on 3 dresses at a time!", "you already try on more than 9 dresses!", blah, blah, blah. I'm sorry, but I’m an adult and I really don't need a rude old lady talking to me that way. I mean, what kind of business person treats her customers that way?! Whatever happened to customer service?! So I raised my voice back at her and let her know that I didn’t drive 45 minutes to her store just to try on 9 dresses and not be able to leave with the perfect one; that I wasn’t going to spend $100 on a dress that I didn’t absolutely love! I told her never mind, that I was not going to do business with her and all she said was “Fine! You go!” My mom was also with me and was going to buy a dress but she put it back too. I was also going to buy a shirt and tie for my husband, but I decided to take my business elsewhere. I don’t need to be spending my hard-earned money at a place that is not going to value me as a customer. When all this was happening, there were 3 women sitting in the waiting area in front of the dressing rooms. They witnessed the whole thing. When I was about to leave, one of them told me that I should go look at the stores off Harry Hines, they pretty much carry the same dresses. And as soon as we walked out, those 3 ladies walked out too and told me that what the lady did wasn’t right and they weren’t going to give her their business either. I have a huge family, and a lot of them live in Grand Prairie; I will be sure to let them know about the poor customer service and not to go there either. She needs to remember that the best way to get (or not get) business is by word of mouth.
